This is old, but because it's indexed so highly on Google, it's important to post this:

Dear blog author,

Please learn English. "Document" does not solely imply the use of "words" alone. Your premise is faulty and therefore your entire post is based on a misunderstanding of a basic concept and can be disregarded.

Pictures, diagrams, and everything in between, are also "documents". A document is form of communication committed to "paper" (or disk, in the case of electronic communication). Wikipedia seems to agree. This is exactly why DDD is so powerful, because it's not just about words, but about all documents. If they just meant words, they would have called it "Text Driven Design".

Again, please fact check your terminology before spewing your opinion so irresponsibly on the internet.

Is someone aware if there are as effective web personal marketing service than ReputationUP.com? Marriott? They only cost fortynine dollars which is not much, but I've 2 produce 3ish more alternatives for my colleagues. :^)

I was at a dinner recently sat next to a senior IBM-er. We talked about Accenture and IBM war stories... He spoke of a time when he was working on a big job alongside Accenture.

Accenture people "When will the architecture design be complete?"

IBM people "When we know that it is right."

Accenture people "But what is the deadline? This is critical path."

IBM people "It will be done when we know that it will meet the needs of the client."

Accenture "Can we just put in the end of the month?"

... etc

It is incredibly hard to play off the right balance between deadlines and work products reaching the right level of completeness.

I think the scary thing is that once a deadline is set on paper, it becomes incredibly difficult to change it if unforeseen challenges arise in the development of the solution.

This reflects my experience exactly. Although as the owner of a software development business it can be even worse. Recently we were engaged as external contractors to build a website/system and the creative team were from another external company. Of course the creative team slipped, changed their minds, failed to supply digital assets...... And we still had to meet the deadline, many 70hr weeks ensued.

Hmm..Spilt milk theory at work again.

People anchor on the costs that they have already incurred and dont realise that the decisions they need to make have to be independent of it. Seperating out is hard for most of us - for example, finishing off a plate of food just because you have ordered it or wearing a piece of clothing just because good money was spent on it even if it is unflattering.

Surprising you have a 4th floor!

I live on the 29th floor of a 27 floor buildings... In China, "shi" (four) is an unlucky number because it reminds chinese of the word "death". Most buildings, airplanes, etc skip all 4 numbers and the number 13.

You have a point dude. Because if you are to imitate great brands like Facebook, Google, and Microsoft, you'll end up in court. And that's a fact.

Sometimes the best intentions come in the way. It is the english concept of fairness that seems to be the stumbling block. No one wants to be seen as making random decisions - a process would ensure an audit trail of decision making.

And here's the deal - they dont even need to make the money available in this form either. All they have to do is provide tax sops and ease the distribution facilities when the idea comes to fruition.

The whole concept of centrally driven innovation is a non-starter IMHO

A rout is commonly defined as a chaotic and disorderly retreat or withdrawal of troops from a battlefield, resulting in the victory of the opposing party, or following defeat, a collapse of discipline, or poor morale. Is this what you meant?
